Taken with, of all things, a Tamron 90mm macro lens. It wasn't my first choice to use for this, but I was pleasantly surprised how good Tamron's glass actually was.
Light is provided by a single studio electronic flash diffused through a translucent sheet of plastic. The purple tint is provided entirely by the stack of gels on which the subject is composed.
